The Story of Valleyview Alliance Church & The Bridge Community Center - past, present, and future...
Valleyview Alliance church
We were established as a church in the 1915 in Endicott, NY. We moved to our current location in Vestal in the year 1985. After faithfully being established at this current site for over 25 years we started seeking God for a new ministry opportunity and for Him to use Valleyview in a powerful way. God answered this prayer by calling us to to merge with a sister church called Johnson Ciy Alliance roughly 9 miles away from our Vestal campus. We voted unaminously in Janary 2014 to move ahead with the merger, so we could begin a unique ministry called The Bridge Community Center. This calling and opportunity has taught us to wholeheartedly trust God and that He will provide immeasurably more if we remain faithful and obedient to His plan as his people.
The Bridge Community Center
After officially merging with Johsnon City Alliance Church in April of 2014, God gave us the vision to use that facility as gospel-centered community center. The location of the The Bridge is in the heart of a impoverished neighborhood of Johnson City with many needs. The vison for The Bridge was always to begin reaching and investing in the next generation for community change. The Bridge launched in the summer of 2014 by holding a free four week summer camp for K-5th graders. Due to the success of the first summer camp we were able to launch an After School program later that fall. After School meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where we see about 100 different students come though our doors each week. The idea has always been to serve the community by fulfilling needs no one else is providing. Now we have several programs and community parterships that help us make this happen.
